Sevilla receives major boost as Ruben Vargas returns to training ahead of Getafe clash

Sevilla has received a significant lift as preparations for their upcoming match against Getafe C.F. on Monday continue. The club announced on Wednesday that midfielder Ruben Vargas has returned to full team training after a two-week absence due to injury.

The Swiss international, who missed the season opener against Athletic Club, is a key figure for the squad under new coach Matías Almeyda. His return to the pitch at the Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros Palacios is a positive sign, suggesting he may be available for selection for the La Liga encounter at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium.

While the team celebrated Vargas’s return, defender Andrés Castrín trained individually as part of a workload management plan. The club stated that he will rejoin full team training later in the week.

Sevilla will be looking to secure their first points of the new La Liga season after a disappointing 3-2 loss to Athletic Club in their opening fixture. Getafe, meanwhile, started their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Celta Vigo. The match, scheduled for Monday, August 25, will kick off at 7:30 PM UTC.

Sevilla’s next training session is scheduled for Thursday morning as they finalise preparations for the home game.
