Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Spanish winger Yeremy Pino from Villarreal in a deal worth up to £26 million.
The 22-year-old has signed a five-year contract and is expected to be available for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Aston Villa. Pino’s release clause was set at £69m, but with less than two years left on his contract, Villarreal chose to cash in rather than risk losing him for less later.
Pino, who came through Las Palmas’ academy before breaking into Villarreal’s first team in 2020, made 133 appearances for the Spanish side.
Last season, he scored four goals in 34 league games as Villarreal secured a fifth-place finish and Champions League qualification. On the international stage, he has already made 15 appearances for Spain, scoring three goals since his debut in 2021.
Palace chairman Steve Parish welcomed the signing, describing Pino as an exciting young talent with a strong record in both club and international football.
“With an exciting season ahead for the club, competing on multiple fronts, he is a player whose talents Palace fans will particularly appreciate,” Parish said.
The move comes a week after Palace lost England forward Eberechi Eze to Arsenal in a £60m transfer. Pino becomes their third signing of the summer, following goalkeeper Walter Benítez, who arrived on a free from PSV Eindhoven, and defender Borna Sosa, signed from Ajax for £3m.
